The Eastern and Western Upper Peninsula Citizens’ Advisory Councils (EUPCAC & WUPCAC), each with 20 members, provide local input to the Michigan DNR on regional policies, resource management, and community concerns. They help improve DNR effectiveness and ensure decisions reflect the needs of Upper Peninsula residents.

DownloadThe Eastern CAC meets every other month at different locations. If you click on the tab below you will find their:
Public citizens can ask to be placed on the Council agenda to provide comment on an issue for an upcoming Council meeting but must do so at least five (5) days prior to the meeting by contacting Kristi Dahlstrom at 906-228-6561 or by email at dahlstromk@michigan.gov. If public citizens are placed on the agenda, they will have a maximum of five (5) minutes to provide comments.
Public citizens may also provide comments on the day of the Council meeting by filling out a public comment card when they arrive. They will receive a maximum of three (3) minutes to provide comments.

Applications are accepted at any time from interested citizens to sit on the councils (must be a resident of the Upper Peninsula to apply). Applications are reviewed if/when openings occur. The application form should be filled out in full and returned to the address on the form.
